Queen of the Nile, a hybrid theater opera, is a story of a fallen heroine and what happens when our idols cease to be our north stars. It is the story of Anna, a women who idolizes real life award winning journalist Lara Logan, and follows her life from Logan’s traumatic sexual assault in Egypt by a mob of two hundred men through to her shift into an alt right conspiracy theorist. Queen of the Nile explores everyday absorption of cataclysmic trauma, unraveling the sexualization of women in media, politics and mythology.
